Community Supported Agriculture in Merrimack County

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a partnership between consumers and farmers in which members purchase shares of the farms’ production up front.  This gives farms important revenue during the non-season and consumers a reliable source of in-season, fresh, locally produced food.

Fresh Start Farms CSA (Helene Edelstein)

Fresh Start Farms is a collective of refugee and immigrant farmers who are participating in the New American Sustainable Agriculture Project. There are over 20 farmer entrepreneurs, representing the Somali-Bantu, Bhutanese, Burundi, and Congolese communities, as well as other ethnic groups.  These growers sell produce wholesale to grocery stores, schools, and other businesses and institutions, at farmers’ markets and farm stands where we accept SNAP/EBT, and through a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) share program.

20-Week full share at $630 and a partial share for $350. Partial shares will be pre-packed and ready for pickup.  Vegetable are locally grown and are certified organic.  Vegetable pickup location is 232 South Street in Concord on Thursdays beginning at 3:30 p.m. and ending at 6:00 p.m. Season should run from mid-June to late October.
