connecting people to healthy opportunities

What is Capital Area Wellness Coalition?

Capital Area Wellness Coalition (CAWC) is comprised of individuals and organizations that partner and volunteer their time to create a healthier community. The group has a wide representation from the community; schools, businesses, the multicultural community, physicians, transportation, state and mental health agencies, and individuals. Concord Hospital Center for Health Promotion supports CAWC by supplying leadership and staff support to coordinate and facilitate the group.

Who we are:

Wellness Coalition Catchment Area

CAWC first met on September 25th, 2009 and was welcomed by Mayor James Bouley who shared a belief in the importance of collaborating to create a healthier community. Since that time, we have enjoyed the involvement of civic leaders, businesses, non-profits and individuals, all of whom share a passion for wellness. The Coalition meets monthly to further its mission. Our steering committee meets semi-annually to review the Coalition’s progress, engage area leaders to commit resources and shape the future direction of the Coalition.
